Research

The research in the Mesoscopic Physics Group is focused around two main areas: Quantum Transport, the study of phase coherent electronic systems, and Quantum Thermodynamics, the study of heat and temperature in the quantum regime. Areas of particular interest to us are the role of noise and fluctuations as well as the interrelation to and the possible applications in quantum information technology. We currently investigate these questions by considering devices based on mesoscopic superconductivity as well as information driven engines which rely on measurement and feedback schemes.
