Personal profile

Research

I am a postdoctoral researcher in European law, specialising in health law, based at the Health Law Research Centre at the Law Faculty. My research focuses on the legal and ethical regulation of emerging eHealth technologies and AI-driven tools in healthcare, particularly in light of the evolving European legal framework.

Currently, I investigate how recent legislative proposals and instruments—such as the European Health Data Space (EHDS), the AI Act, the Data Act, and the GDPR—interact in practice and whether they sufficiently protect patient rights in the face of accelerating digital transformation. I focus especially on grey zones and legal blind spots related to the use of connected health objects, wellness apps, clinical platforms, and algorithmic decision-making tools. A key aspect of my work is the tension between innovation and legal certainty, and how legal fragmentation may affect patients’ trust, autonomy, and control over their personal data.

My research is part of the interdisciplinary EU project EUGHLORIA and contributes to several collaborative efforts within the Health Law Research Centre, including projects on AI-supported diagnosis, real-time fairness auditing in mental healthcare, and cross-border access to health data. I regularly engage in comparative legal analysis, combining doctrinal research with empirical insights from digital health implementation in EU Member States.

I hold a joint PhD in European law from the University Capitole of Toulouse and Charles University in Prague, where I specialised in cross-border telemedicine care and the legal challenges of interoperability, privacy, and health data governance. Since then, my work has evolved to cover a broader spectrum of regulatory and ethical issues tied to AI and digital health infrastructure in Europe.

I am committed to interdisciplinary research and policy engagement that supports responsible innovation in healthcare. I welcome collaboration with researchers, institutions, and regulatory bodies interested in health data governance, digitalisation of healthcare, and the legal foundations of trustworthy AI in health at the national (Swedish) and European level.
