I am a researcher in Feminist Security Studies. My work focuses on embodiment and emotions in contemporary post/wars settings. I am particularly interested in women and feminist forms of resistance in armed conflict and peacebuilding.
Since 2013, my research is oriented towards understanding the embodied, affective, and emotional processes of female ex-combatants returning to civil society after being part of insurgent groups. I emphasize on the ways in which women ex-combatants politicize and transform their war experience into nonviolent feminist actions in post-peace agreements.
Currently, my research is focused on a comparative case between female ex-combatants’ post-peace agreement militancy in Nepal and Colombia. Drawing on Critical Peace Studies and Feminist Security Studies, it looks at the spatio-temporal, embodied and emotional aspects of female reintegration and political militancy in post-insurgent engagement.
