Personal profile

Research

My research, being interdisciplinary in nature, covers economic geography, regional studies, innovation studies, sustinability and entrepreneurship. I am especially interested in peripheral, non-core, post-industrial, and rural regions.

I work on several different projects and studies internationally, together with colleagues from around the world. I am especially interested in studying economic drivers and impacts at regional and local levels, and in particular taking a frame of sustainable regional development. In addition to being interdisciplinary, my work sits at the research-practice interface, striving to be relevant to policy and practice communities.

I am an editor of the journal Regional Studies, Regional Science. I also edit the CIRCLE Policy Briefs series.
