Research

Riya Raphael is an affiliated researcher and teacher based at the School of Social Work, Lund University. Her research combines the fields of global political economy, gender studies and sociological approaches to labour and ecology. She is particularly interested in studies on work, waste, just transition and critical feminist approaches to political economy.

Raphael completed her undergraduate studies in political science from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, India. Her masters’ education involved one year of training in sociology at Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics followed by a Masters’ degree in Global Studies from the Graduate School, Lund University (LU). She received her PhD from the Department of Gender Studies, LU.
