Personal profile

Research

I am a senior lecturer in Observational and Theoretical Astrophysics at the Department of Astronomy and Theoretical Physics, Lund University.  I study the physics of stars and stellar systems, currently focusing on stellar clusters, interacting binary stars, and luminous transients such as supernovae and gamma-ray bursts.  I am also interested in planetary systems, in particular the history of the Sun and its solar system.

I work in collaboration with many colleagues within the Department of Astronomy and Theoretical Physics, and in other departments in Sweden and overseas.  I am currently supervising two PhD students, Timmi Jørgensen and Chen Fanyao.

Teaching

I am the responsible person and primary lecturer for two master's courses: Stellar Structure and Evolution (ASTM25) and High-Energy Astrophysics (ASTM12). I also teach parts of Galaxies and Cosmology (ASTA33) and Statistical Physics and Quantum Statistics (FYSB12). I also supervise bachelor and master projects.
