My research interests revolve around the provision and experiences of health services, self-care practices, and health market formation, with a theoretical focus on the spatiality and materiality of grey zones. Previously, I have conducted mixed-methods studies to examine how medical professionals and care seekers negotiate medicine access in the Swedish context. I have also examined how self-care and lay health knowledge evolve and shift in the digital society. 

My current projects concern scientific practices and science communication in the field of xenotransplantation. 

I work inter-disciplinarily, with scientists from medicine, cultural studies and information studies, public health agencies and patient organisations. I coordinate the Medical Humanities Research Node at the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences. I am also an affiliated researcher at the Birgit Rausing Centre for Medical Humanities and the Centre for Retail and Logistics, Lund University.

I am skilled in using qualitative methods, including interviews, ethnographic observation, and surveys for data collection.

I teach and coordinate undergraduate and graduate courses. My teaching covers subjects on qualitative research methods, health service management, and medical ethnology. I also supervise master's theses.

I have published research findings in the form of edited volumes, journal articles, and popular summaries.
