Currently, I am engaged in the study of functional diversity of soil micro-organisms by metagenomics approaches with Soil Research Group. The objective of work is to identify the functional diversity of soil microbes involved in carbon cycling in agricultural soils by applying novel tools developed in the area of genomics and bioinformatics. The work is highly indulge with the high-level of data- mining and processing, management and bioinformatics analysis.

My research interest lies in exploring the applied aspects of bioinformatics. My research focuses on Computational aspects of large scale genome sequencing strategies: assembly and annotation, mappings and analysis, Genomics databases, tools, and servers related to genome analysis. To uphold the genomics area, protein-protein interaction has been strengthen for systemic studies i.e. Binary interaction, pathways construction from large mess, complex identification and systemic studies through interaction databases. Expertise of structural bioinformatics has been developed for assessment of protein structure and function i.e. pointing studies like Protein structure prediction, protein simulation and docking studies. Exploration and implementation of machine learning techniques and Tool development have been done for cutting edge of research work. Research work also includes Biological sequence analysis, Motif and domain identification, Evolution related studies using phylogenetics, exploration of Biological databases and theoretical and practical aspect of drug discovery and designing.
