Research

Sara Karlsson Söbirk studied medicine at Linköping University, and is specialising to become a clincal microbiologist, at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Lund, Region Skåne. The clinical work includes one day a week at the Department of Infectious Diseases in Helsingborg.

Sara has a special interest in parasitology and tropical medicine, and is a part time PhD-student at the Collin lab, studying interaction of the protozoan parasite Leishmania mexicana with different aspects of the human immune system. This work is conducted in collaboration with Prof. Paul Bates at Lancaster University, UK.
