Research

Sebastian Thöns works since September 2020 at the Division of Structural Engineering at Lund University. The areas of his expertise encompass:

  • Value of information and decision analysis,
  • Reliability, risk and resilience analysis of built environment systems,
  • Building and structural health information system design and optimisation,
  • Structural performance design, integrity management and optimisation,
  • Laboratory and in‑situ, static and dynamic testing and monitoring.

His project portfolio encompasses research and networking, consulting, standardisation, innovation and education projects with European Union, national and industrial funds.
