Signe Bremer Gagnesjö holds a phd in ethnology and have a background in ethnographic trans studies with emphasis ontrans experiences of gender confirming health care and urban space. Previous research involves themes such as transphobic violence in public spaces, waiting in medical settings, forced sterilization, public transport as precarious space, and intersections between cisnormativity and racialization. Their new research focus Scandinavian transactivism/s between 1970 and 2018, and will for example include older trans people’s memories of trans supportive and/or trans separatist spaces, meeting places and trans political interventions, as well as formations of trans activist organizations and independent groups.
