Personal profile

Professional work

I am Associate Professor and research project leader in the group of associate professor Simon Timpka, Perinatal and cardiovascular epidemiology (PACE). I also work as a specialist in internal medicine at Skåne University Hospital. I studied at Lund University (M.D., Ph.D.) and had further research training as postdoc in Professor Olle Melander’s research team at the department of Clinical Sciences in Malmö, Sweden.

Research

Our research projects aims at investigating the links between the vasopressin system and metabolic, renal, cardiovascular and pregnancy-related disease. The currently ongoing randomized clinical trial Hydration To Optimize Metabolism (H2O-metabo) study aims at investigating if increased water intake can lower fasting glucose and cardiovascular risk in the low-drinking part of the population.

Teaching

I supervise medical and Ph.D.-students. Motivated medical students are very much welcome to make contact if they are looking for a master thesis project.
