Research

With a background in chemical engineering and process design, I moved into the biotech field. My engineering skills help me understand the practical aspects of biotech, and my love for research motivates me to tackle challenges and find solutions.

As a dedicated researcher specializing in designing and characterising synthetic and natural polymeric materials, I have extensively applied my expertise across various biotechnology and biomedical applications. A significant focus of my work lies in developing synthetic porous and non-porous polymeric networks tailored for a range of downstream processes. The cryogelation technique stands out as a pivotal method in my research, allowing me to create interconnected, macroporous structures. My technical proficiency also encompasses various polymerization methods, including click chemistry and atom transfer radical polymerization. These techniques enable me to intricately modify and customize the surface of materials based on the final application. These structures have shown immense potential in applications such as chromatography, biomaterials, and bioreactors, to name a few.

Over the past decade, my projects have spanned the separation and purification of biomolecules and water and wastewater treatment initiatives. I have ventured into designing synthetic antibodies through molecular imprinting technology.
