Research
My project aims to study survival and functional status after stroke in the long term (up to 5 years). Also, I analyse what characterizes patients that deteriorate in functional status or pass away during the follow-up period. The situation of the next of kin of stroke survivors is also addressed.
The project primarily aims to describe:
1: Survival and functional status in patients up to 5 years after stroke.
2: To what extent pre-stroke comorbidity affects long-term prognosis.
3: Re-admissions after stroke.
4: Describe the situation informal caregivers to stroke survivors in the long term. This research question is adressed using both quantative and qualitative methodology.
