Research

My primary research focus is on early and differential diagnosis of neurocognitive disorders, e. g. mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and Frontotemporal Disorders.

My contribution is the neuropsychological assessment, especially the neuro-cognitive testing, to the multi-professional approach required in this research area. Research questions are for example: How can we differentiate between cognitive dysfunctions related to a neurocognitive disorders and dysfunctions related to other aetiologies? How can we identify the patients that will progress from mild cognitive decline to a major neurocognitive disorder as well as predict how long it will take?

In addition to employ tests and other instruments well-established in clinical practice, I seek to find novel and more efficient test instruments.
