Personal profile

Research

My research is about investigating obesity and metabolic risk factors in relation to the risk and survival of disease, especially cancer. I lead the new Obesity and Disease Development Sweden (ODDS) study, in which anthropometrics in millions of men and women in Sweden have been linked to several national registers to study the associations between obesity, weight changes, and risk of disease and mortality, cancer in particular. I also lead the Metabolic syndrome and Cancer project (Me-Can), which is a collaboration between researchers in Sweden, Norway and Austria, with the purpose to investigate metabolic factors in relation to cancer risk in around 800,000 individuals with 80,000 incident cancer cases.
