Personal profile

Research

My research is about investigating obesity and related risk factors in relation to risk and survival of disease, especially cancer. I lead the Obesity and Disease Development Sweden (ODDS) study, in which body size in millions of men and women in Sweden have been linked to several national registers to study the associations between various aspects of body size and risk of disease and mortality, cancer in particular. I have led the now completed Metabolic syndrome and Cancer (Me-Can) project, a collaboration between researchers in Sweden, Norway and Austria that resulted in more than 35 research studies.
