Personal profile

Research

The aim of my research is to understand how our home galaxy, the Milky Way, and its stellar populations formed and evolved to what we observe today. There are many pieces in the puzzle and I focus on the observational ones, mapping the detailed structure in terms of abundances, kinematics, and ages, using high-resolution spectra obtained with the large optical telescopes around the world. Currently I am involved in three large spectroscopic surveys: The Gaia-ESO Survey, WEAVE, and 4MOST, with the aims of observing several millions of stars over the coming 10-15 years.
