Tobias Hansson Wahlberg

I'm an associate professor of theoretical philosophy (since 2015).

My dissertation (Objects in Time, 2009) was a compilation thesis on the metaphysics of time and persistence.

Since I received my PhD degree, my research has focused primarily on social ontology and on the philosophy of causation. In 2011, I was awarded VR-funding for the project Social Ontology and Persistence, and in 2015 I was granted RJ-funding for the project Causation in the Social Domain. During 2024, I'm on an RJ Sabbatical leave, writing a book manuscript on social ontology.

I've been a visiting researcher at The Centre for Time, University of Sydney (July-Dec 2006), Institute of Philosophy, University of Neuchâtel (May 2017), and at The Center for Philosophy of Science, University of Pittsburgh (April 2018). In October 2024, I'll visit the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Groningen.

I was Director of Doctoral Studies between 2015-2018, Deputy Head and Assistant Head of Department managing doctoral studies and research between 2019-2022, and Assistant Head of Department managing research during 2023.
