Current research and teaching

I work within the research program Contested administrations: Conflict resolution and the improvement of democracy, funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR). My main interest is to investigate the role of public administration/civil servants in transforming conficts in cities with a violent past. I am Co-director in the EGPA study group on "Local governance and democracy". Within this framweork my interest is foremost to study the conditions for local autonomy. I teach the introduction  course of the Master programme in political science and a leadership course in the Master programme in Welfare Policies and Management (WPM). I am chairman in the steering committee of this programme.
