Current Research

Tony Ingesson's research is primarily concerned with counterintelligence and intelligence analysis from a broad perspective. This includes individual motives for espionage, clandestine communications, investigations of intelligence failures, operational/tactical deception and industrial espionage. He also participates in multidisciplinary collaboration in the intersection between intelligence analysis and precision medicine.

His dissertation analyzed the role of subcultures in relation to the strategic and political implications of military decision-making at the lower levels (ship captains and leaders on the squad, platoon, company and  battalion levels). He also publishes research on the role of bias in intelligence analysis.
