Personal profile

Research

My primary research interest is geoelectrical imaging and monitoring for engineering, groundwater and environmental applications, with main focus on direct current resistivity and time-domain induced polarisation (DCIP) tomography. I have pioneered and lead development of methodology and several prototype instrument generations for DCIP tomography. A prototype data acquisition system for electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) developed during the doctorate studies was later commercialised as the ABEM Lund Imaging System, which has been used worldwide, and the functionality subsequently integrated in the state-of-the-art instrument ABEM Terrameter LS[2]. I have been organising and teaching courses in engineering geology, hydrogeology, field investigation methodology and applied geophysics for universities and industry, and supervised master and doctorate level students, and postdocs. Research activities include cooperation with authorities and industry, and international collaboration that includes field work in Scandinavia, Cape Verde Islands, eastern and southern Africa, Central America, South America and the Arctic.
