I have joined the Pheromone Group for a Ph.D. in September 2019. My Ph.D. project is focused on “Evolution of olfaction and new targets for innovative pest insect control”. In this project I will be working on several species of bark and ambrosia beetles and investigate how insect olfaction has evolved in relation to pheromone communication and fungal symbiosis.
My aim is to identify the odorant receptors that are important for the ecology of these insects and which can be targeted for environmentally safe and efficient pest control.
