Research

Vahid M. Nik is a Full Professor at the division of Building Physics, Lund University. He leads the Urban Systems and Dynamics (USD) group. His background is Mechanical Engineering, specialized in Energy Conversion and Fluid Dynamics. He received his PhD in Building Physics from Chalmers University of Technology in 2012. He was a postdoctoral fellow at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in Switzerland before joining Lund University in 2014. Professor Nik has been conducting several pioneering research works about climate change, buildings, and energy systems, introducing novel approaches to the field. His research interetsts are:

  • Energy efficiency in buildings and cities
  • Hygrothermal performance of buildings

  • Infrastructure physics
