Personal profile


My research interests include biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, investigating the mechanisms that mediate multitrophic interactions among insects, plants and associated biotic and abiotic factors. My educational and professional background have given me experience in surveying plants and insects in both field, common garden and green house conditions, and experience in quantifying plant functional traits, working with quantitative ecological methods in R and in ArcGIS.

I received my MSc in Conservation Biology at Lund University and obtained my doctoral degree in Plant Protection Biology from The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. In my PhD project I explored the role of pollinators on seed set in clover seed production and how pollinator abundance and species richness in turn were affected by local management and landscape composition. I also examined how spatiotemporal dynamics of the main clover seed pests affected seed yields through seed predation. And I investigated the interactions between pests and natural enemies under different management and landscape regimes, in order to elucidate which of these factors may contribute to functioning natural control in white clover seed production.

As a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Environmental and Climate Research I am currently involved in a project, DrivenByPollinators, where we investigate the impact of pollinator declines on plant community composition and the plant-mediated impact on ecosystem functioning in real landscapes.
