Research

I have a broad interest in public law and my research has dealt with both constitutional and administrative law.

Much of my research involves issues that arise when national public law meets today’s globalized world. In many situations public law must now deal with foreign legal persons and objects that move across state borders. I am interested in how this is managed from a legal perspective. My dissertation investigates the competence of Swedish public authorities to conclude administrative agreements with foreign counterparts, what the agreements may deal with and consequences of agreements concluded ultra vires. In articles I have later discussed for example jurisdictional issues and the territorial scope of Swedish law.

My research has not been limited to international topics, but has also dealt with national Swedish regulation of, inter alia, fire protection legislation, freedom of expression and internal government regulations. Currently, I am involved in a research project on legal regulation of financial management instruments.

Teaching

I mainly teach Constitutional law on the first semester at the law study programme, but I also teach public law at advanced courses.
