My research is focused on the study of how molecules respond to photoexcitation to specific quantum states and how these dynamics can be monitored. These studies are mainly performed using intense X-ray photons from primarily synchrotron radiation sources. All with the main goal of developing a deeper understanding of how a transition to an electric potential in a molecule on which dynamics are initiated affects the geometry of the molecule, which can lead to new isomers, fragmentations or to bond extensions.
