Personal profile

Research

I am an Earth system scientist dedicated to understanding terrestrial ecosystem dynamics and their feedback to the climate system across spatial and temporal scales. My expertise lies in using various modeling tools to simulate vegetation dynamics, soil biogeochemistry, hydrology, permafrost, and greenhouse gas emissions, as well as to quantify biogeophysical and biogeochemical responses and feedbacks to the climate system under anthropogenic warming.

I work with multiple models, including the climate-plant-soil continuum model (CoupModel) at landscape/plot-scale and soil pore-space scale, the dynamic global vegetation model (LPJ-GUESS) at regional and global scales, the regional Earth system model (RCA-GUESS and RCAO-GUESS) for the pan-Arctic and Baltic Sea domain, and the global Earth system model (EC-Earth), one of the CMIP6 Earth system models.
