My research focuses primarily on reconstructing past environmental changes over the last 11 700 years using lake sediments, in particular their palynological and geochemical contents. I am also interested in studying coastal lakes and lagoons in semi-arid regions and investigating past interactions between terrestrial and marine processes. Part of my research is also related to geoarchaeological projects and involves revealing human impact on vegetation cover using pollen and non-pollen palynomorphs.
