Magnesium is a high structural efficiency/high reactivity metal. However, Mg is susceptible to corrosion and oxidation and its fundamental mechanisms are not understood well yet. We aim to understand fundamentals of oxidation in gaseous media and corrosion in aqueous media by DFT simulation.
