Project Details
Description
Progress in the development of in vivo biomarkers for the subregions of the medial temporal lobe (MTL), which have distinct functional roles and vulnerabilities to disease pathologies, has been hindered due to a lack of valid, standard segmentation protocols. The proposed research will leverage ongoing efforts and multicentric datasets to develop a harmonized MTL subregions segmentation protocol and validate it in clinical populations of early- stage Alzheimer’s disease and semantic variant Primary Progressive Aphasia. The proposed research is aligned with the goals of standardizing neuroimaging tools, and will have broad implications for reproducible research.
