Project: Research

Project Details

Layman's description

This project studies the role of archaeology in science-fiction and the dialectic relationship between science and pop culture. The sci-fi genre often appropriates the language of science, and archaeology is one of those disciplines which frequently play a central part in the narratives of the genre. We analyze the role archaeology plays in the creation of these narratives in film and television.
