During romanticism and the century that was to be called The Century of the Child - the 1900s - many Swedish authors chose to write about children and childhood, their own and others, fictive and remembered. How did they choose to give the child life in writing? Which devices did they use to give voice to the inner life of the child? How did they imagine childhood?
