The aim of the project is to explore how medical genetics and genetic counseling developed during the post-war period. How did new knowledge and technologies but also social norms and values influence reproductive choices? By situating the study in a historical context the project will also contribute to the ongoing discussion about continuity and discontinuity of eugenics.
