Between- and within-individual variation in the annual movement of long-distance migrants

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Using individually tracked red-necked nightjars (Caprimulgus ruficollis) from a well-studied population (2008-2018) we aim (1) to determine the timing of migration, migratory patterns and wintering location of nightjars; (2) to analyse spatiotemporal variation within and between individuals with respect to life-history and environmental conditions; (3) to understand their flight dynamics during migration and their everyday life, as revealed by flight activity recorders.
