The project aims at describing and analyzing how the care of children and adolescence with type 1-diabetes was practised in the 1950s, 1970s and 1990s. Focus is on the transformations of how the care has been provided.

The project aims at describing and analyzing how the care of children and adolescence with type 1-diabetes has changed in a historical and cultural perspective. Life-historical interviews are conducted with individuals with experiences of children's and adolescence's falling ill and growing up with type 1-diabetes from the 1950s, 1970s and 1990s. Three categories are interviewed: individuals with type 1-diabetes, relatives of individuals with type 1-diabetes, and hospital personnel.
