Carta Marina (1539) and Johannes and Olaus Magnus

Carta Marina, an early map of Scandinavia, was drawn by Olaus Magnus (1490-1558) and printed in Venice in 1539. His work Historia de gentibus septentrionalibus (1555) is regarded as a very extensive commentary to the map. In this project, I study if and how the work of his older brother Johannes Magnus Historia de omnibus Gothorum Sueonumque regibus (1554) can be seen as a commentary to the map.
