Concepts, planning, demonstration and replication of Local User-friendly Energy communities

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Funded by ERANET ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems RegSys (the Swedish part: Energimyndigheten)

CLUE will develop and validate a tool kit supporting the life cycle of a local energy system and will close the gap of missing control and monitoring tools. The integration into future ICT architecture and the interaction with surrounding electricity systems will be analyzed. Different flexibility technologies and their potential will be evaluated. CLUE aims to deliver meaningful proof-of-concepts of the tool kit considering both stand-alone and integrated applications. A variation of LEC stakeholders (cooperatives, project developer, DSOs, owners, operators of LECs, utilities, supplier) will participate in CLUE. The relevant internal and external drivers, success factors, and barriers for LECs will be identified in co-creation workshops and transition paths will be developed. Replicability, scalability, and socioeconomic cost-benefit analysis will be part of the project to identify the general potential for future communities and the implementation in other regions.
