Project Details

Description

This project came together as an ad-hoc reaction to the participants' urge to contribute to pandemic modeling, leveraging expertise from the dynamical systems community in Sweden.

Much effort was spent on raising awareness of how limitations in data impact model quality, and we have had many fruitful discussions with public health and epidemiology professionals.

Project results were disseminated broadly through publication in Nature and other journals; interviews in Swedish and Finish national radio; popular scientific articles; a web platform; and several plenary and invited talks in different contexts.

The work was partially funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR), and by Strategic Research funds from the faculty of Engineering at Lund University. The project was nominated and also added to the "100 list" of the Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
