Description
EMP3 has recently been identified to encode the blood group known as MAM. Erythroid progenitors from very rare MAM-negative individuals have increased proliferation rate when cultured in vitro. EMP3 has also been shown to play a role in various cancers. We are investigating EMP3’s role in erythropoiesis and endeavoring to target EMP3 as a potential for cancer treatment.
