Project Details
Description
In this project, we plan to use a gastroscope (which is a special tube camera with which one can inspect the inside of the body), equipped with a new light source and detector through the working channel of the gastroscope, to be able to perform fluorescence measurements of blood circulation in the joint after surgery of esophageal cancer. With the help of the fluorescence, we hope to be able to get a better picture of the blood circulation in the anastomosis, in order to be able to identify circulation disturbances in advance that indicate a risk of anastomotic insufficiency, and thus be able to start treatment early to try to limit the damage.
