Description
This dissertation investigates the complex dynamics of end of life decision making law. It mobilises a plural legal consciousness framework in order to investigate how end of life decision making law is experienced and constructed by healthcare workers in ways that extend beyond formal state law. Further, the project employs a case study of people dying with dementia whose difficulties in forming and expressing end of life wishes provides a springboard to challenge the primacy of the autonomy model in this area.
