Thermal-cycling silicon strip sensor/electronic units (‘modules’) in a climate-controlled chamber to assess their performance under duress and determine their suitability for use in the ATLAS ITk Strips subdetector

Popular science description

We heat and cool particle detectors during normal operations. During this project, we test particle detectors sensitive to charged particles to see how they behave when subjected to similar thermal stress.
