Project Details
Description
Blood group antigens are regulated epigenetically to be expressed in the appropriate cell types and at apposite times. In some rare individuals, epigenetic regulation appears to be altered, leading to variant blood group phenotypes. This project investigates the mechanisms and roles of epigenetic regulation in these uncommon phenotypes, with a potential to increase understanding in general about epigenetic regulation.
