My research is based on the fact that competence in supply chain management (SCM)is crucial for companies to stay competitive. Supply chain managers are a key factor, and to meet the requirements of the constant challenges in today’s workplaces, their competence also need to develop continuously. The research is multidisciplinary and includes both hard and soft aspects, with a focus on supply chain managers' competence and learning. What competences are supply chain managers using to do what they do? What competences are required? How are supply chain managers acquiring such competence? My aim is to assist with knowledge in the fields of academic education and human resource management, as well as to the industry and the workplaces of supply chain managers.
