Description

I study the effects of different rewilding and restoration methods on the biodiversity in Swedish ecoparks. Ecoparks are multifunctional forest landscapes that are owned by Sveaskog. During my research, I focus mostly on deciduous forests.

My research tries to answer multiple research questions such as 1) Which forest structures are important for the conservation of biodiversity in deciduous forests? 2) How do passive and active forest restoration practices affect the forest structures of a forest 3) Does a Triad system, which is a combination of production forests, less-intense production forests, and restoration forests, work when trying to protect cuckoo wasps and Crabronids? And 4) Which plant resources are important for insects in forest ecosystems and does this depend on the habitat structure?

This research is part of the European WildE project.
