We investigate fully digital massive MIMO techniques to achieve ultra-reliable mmWave communication in highly varying environments. Specifically, we study the properties of mmWave massive MIMO channels. Unlike traditional mmWave research that focuses on LoS channels, the ESR investigates NLoS mmWave channels by studying mmWave reflection properties and their impact on the communication reliability, delay, data rate, etc. In particular, we investigate shadowing scenarios with their transition region from LoS to NLoS and the dynamic behaviour of the scatterers used for communication in NLoS conditions. Finally, we evaluate the performance of the designed fully digital mmWave massive MIMO using their unique testbed.
