Gut Microbiome Laboratory

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The Gut Microbiome Laboratory focuses on modulation of the gut
microbiota using tailored food concepts to prevent metabolic and
inflammatory conditions. Our core team is led by Associate Professor
Frida Hållenius and includes a lector, a laboratory technician and a
bioinformatic technician. Our resources include two Illumina MiSeq
sequencers.

Layman's description

The Gut Microbiome Laboratory studies the microbes in our gut in relation to several human diseases including diabetes and Alzheimer's. By understanding the association between gut microbes and disease, we may be able to eventually use microbes as a tool to understand these sicknesess and improve human health.
