Harnessing Dendritic Cell Reprogramming for Cancer Immunotherapy

This proposal has the ambitious goal to establish an entirely new approach to cancer gene therapy based on dendritic cell (DC) reprogramming. Me and my group have recently identified a combination of transcription factors (TFs) that reprograms fibroblasts into antigen-presenting DCs. This proposal aims at testing a cancer immunotherapy concept based on the induction of antigen presentation in tumor cells by DC reprogramming. This reprogramming strategy will lead to the reactivation of immune surveillance and result in the next generation of tumor-specific immunotherapies. This project represents a pioneering contribution by merging direct cell reprogramming and cancer immunotherapy fields.
