Health economic consequences of implementing screening for colorectal cancer in Sweden

Screening for colorectal cancer is not generally made in Sweden. We study the health economic consequences of implementing screening for colorectal cancer in the Southern Swedish Healthcare region. Strategies for ramping up the screening, different target age ranges and time intervals are evaluated using a microsimulation model, to estimate healthcare and productivity loss costs, life years and QALYs.
